As if catapulted from 1950s, the tiny Bendor Island off the coast of Bandol, developed by Paul Ricard, is a neo-Provençal village complete with hotels and restaurants. Flanked by a beach, a small port and craft shops, this man-made place can be an original excursion. The waymarked seaside path offers a pleasant vista - although it's sometimes rather windy. Impressive panoramic view of the rocky peak of the Aigle de La Ciotat known as the Eagle's Beak from the west coast and the port of Bandol.
