This is an important starting point, because there are plenty of other wonderful dishes vying for your attention along the way. Regional specialties include Sicilian veal and beef meatballs with raisins and pine nuts in an excellent tomato sauce. Many also come here for the pastas, like ricotta cavatelli with wilted arugula and smoky bacon cubes. A front row seat at the oyster bar is just as rewarding.
