The Chic 1699 brand started out in Xiamen and this is their first venture in Shanghai. In the kitchen, a team of Fujianese chefs prepares authentic dishes with produce and fish mostly from their home province. Steamed mangrove crab with black sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf boasts briny-sweet crabmeat and buttery roe. The airy, yet cosy room is great for all kinds of get-togethers. Top marks for the thoughtful, attentive service.
