One of the great classics of the Nuremberg food scene has a new head chef in the form of Felix Bruegel (previously sous-chef here). His dishes are rooted in a kind of "modernised classic" cuisine. Owner and sommelier Frank Mackert is still present and correct with his inimitable Franconian charm and exhaustive knowledge of wines. In his adept and laid-back way, he is able to make astute recommendations from his list of around 500 labels. In addition, clean lines, an invitingly warm colour palette and wooden flooring make for a lovely setting. By reservation only Mon-Sat lunchtime (11.30am-2.30pm).
