Encompassing some 2000ha acres above the York River, Yorktown National Battlefield Park preserves the site of the last major battle in the American War of Independence. The park's visitor centre features exhibits and the 16min docudrama Siege at Yorktown, which details George Washington's crucial victory here over Lord Cornwallis in October 1781.
