The starkly Georgian original brick home of Virginia's most respected jurist and the College of William and Mary's first law professor, George Wythe (1726-1806) was considered one of the finest structures in Colonial Williamsbrg. Here he mentored his students, some of whom (Thomas Jefferson and John Marshall) became the nation's founding fathers. The rich interior of the house reflects the 18C tastes of the Virginia gentry in its brightly painted paneling and wallpaper.
