The exhibition and audio-visual presentation at this visitor centre are devoted to the digs at Whithorn Priory that revealed traces of human presence dating back more than 1 500 years. To the south of the priory, the remains of an old Christian community (5C) were found, as well as an 8C settlement from Northumbria, a 16C cemetery and, last but not least, a market garden. Traces of a Viking trading post to the west of the priory have also been discovered.
