The Victorian warehouses and hotchpotch of slums have given way to a restored neighbourhood, whose delightful brick, stone and wooden facades along cobbled streets and courtyards lit by period lamps are now the scene of vintage shops, native art galleries and a host of restaurants, pubs and cafés.
