Standing proudly on the flat-topped hill which supplied the granite to build it, it appears to be a crenelated surrounding wall reinforced by impressive and numerous square towers. The patron saint of Trujillo, Our Lady of Victory, is enthroned on top of the keep. The curtain walls overlook the town and the Plaza Mayor.
