De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
The construction of Sledmere began in 1751, but the exterior as it appears today is the work of Christopher Sykes, who added two wings. Joseph Rose was responsible for the stucco decoration on the ceilings of the drawing and music rooms, while the Turkish Room is a copy of the Sultan's apartments in the Yeni Mosque in Istanbul. The grounds were designed by Capability Brown but created by Sykes himself.
