At the northern end of the village and heralded by the very realistic representation of a whale cut in two, this museum traces the history of whaling in the Azores. Modern, interactive and richly endowed, it is housed in a vast workshop dating from the 1940s, to which the enormous cetaceans were hoisted for processing via a ramp visible below.
