Piazza di Spagna is dwarfed by the majestic Trinità dei Monti steps, built in the 18C by De Sanctis following Specchi's design. The flight of steps comprises a series of ramps of different sizes which exaggerates the effect of height and creates a decor which is both gracious and majestic in style. The terrace at the top of the steps boasts fine views of the city.
