The rue du Champ-Jacquet leads to this curious little triangular plaza of the same name. Tall timber-framed houses (17C) stand on the north side, and at no 5 is the Hôtel de Tizé: typical of the 17C, it is a combination of white stone, wood and granite. At the foot of this unique ensemble is a bronze statue of Jean Leperdit (1752-1823), the mythical mayor of Rennes who saved prisoners sentenced to death during the Reign of Terror (1790s).
