This is the best place to explore this athletic and religious tradition peculiar to Meso-American civilisations. The largest ball court in all of Meso-America (168m long by 70m wide) has preserved on its lateral walls the stone rings used to score points. It is decorated - on the benches running along these same walls - with bas-reliefs showing a victory scene between two teams. The captain of the winning team holds up the severed head of the rival captain as a sacrifice.
