De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
This flat-roofed adobe was built in 1935 to preserve archaeological discoveries. On its hilltop site is a reconstructed Puebloan house atop a genuine pueblo foundation. Exhibits document tools, pottery, weapons and other artifacts of the early Desert Culture of sloth and mammoth hunters, as well as the Anasazi (c.300 BC-AD 1150) and nomadic Paiute (after AD 1000). At their cultural peak around AD 800, the Anasazi expanded to farmlands along the Muddy River, built substantial houses, made pottery, traded and practiced a sophisticated religion.
