Several German bunkers still stand on Noirmont Point, a wind-battered cape on the south coast of Jersey. The foremost bastion offers a superb view over the rocks below, the small beach at Portelet and the island of Guerlain (also known as Janvrin's Tomb, named after a captain who was buried there in the 18C) crowned by a Martello tower.
