This 10km-long lake lies to the south of the town amid a moraine landscape of great beauty. In 1823 a "Greek temple" known as the Belvedere was built on the north-western shore at the behest of Grand Duchess Marie of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The pretty Broda swimming beach is close by.
