Stand in the centre of Plaza Santo Domingo, on the edge of the fountain with the statue of Doña Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez (1768-1829), mayor of the colonial city of Querétaro and a figure in the independence movement. To the north you can see the lovely Baroque Church of Santo Domingo, and to the west the Portal de los Evangelistas. Scribes and small-scale printers churn out paperwork for their clients here.
