It's an attractive architectural complex set on the water's edge: a leafy patio, a sculpture garden featuring the silhouette of a pearl fisherman and the building itself, four white cubes with no openings to protect the collections from the sun's rays. The complex, designed by Danish architect Knud Holscher, was inaugurated in 1988. Beautifully presented, the collections offer an interesting retrospective of the island's more than 4,000 years of history.
