To the south of the Tête-d'Or, this district, built on the site of the sand banks once deposited by the River Rhône, has a geometric street layout. It is assuredly one of the most elegant districts of Lyon and is dotted with handsome Art nouveau constructions (Boulevard des Belges and, above all, on Place Jules-Ferry).
