The pagoda's sanctuary, or sim, boasts a delightful red, black and gold façade, dominated by a dharma wheel (part of Buddhist philosophy) and a Buddha teaching his disciples, with two stags watching over the scene from either side. Once through the door, the interior walls of the sim are adorned with myriad stencilled characters on a red background: dancers, musicians, a prince on his chariot, elephants, palaces, women sitting in fruit-laden trees, punishments in Hell, etc.
