Lijiang old town is incredibly picturesque. Water from the Black Dragon Pool forms narrow canals which wend their way between the cobbled streets around Sifang Square, crossed by numerous bridges and lined by attractive houses. A hive of constant activity, the town offers the colourful spectacle of Naxi women in their traditional dress - a scene that can be enjoyed by sitting at one of the many outdoor terraces and watching the world go by.
