Abris préhistorique de Laugerie-Basse
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
Situated downstream from Laugerie-Haute (see below), hence its name, this site was used several times over history as a habitat by prehistoric people, from around 14,000 years ago (Middle Magdalenian). An important collection of stone and bone tools was discovered, as well as art objects on bones or antlers; these are now mainly kept in the Museum of Prehistory (reproductions on site). The visit consists of just a video, a commentary by a stratigrapher and some activities in the summer.
