This major prehistoric site enables visitors to get a close-up view of the digs and of two 9.25m-high stratigraphic profiles and no less than 14 archaeological layers comprising visible bone, silex and hearths in situ. A statue, buried to the rear of the shelter some 20,000 years ago, depicts a 16-year-old woman. The museum, established in part of the shelter that has not collapsed, showcases objects found during the digs, including an outstanding goat carved in bas-relief, thought to be Solutrean.
