This lake of volcanic origin has two strange peculiarities: the exceptionally salty waters mean you can float effortlessly, and the calcium carbonate concentration has given rise to an astonishing relief. Its spectacular karstic tufa concretions, tall limestone columns, emerge from the water like petrified fountains. Their reflections in the water, with the snow-capped mountains of the Sierra Nevada as a backdrop, make for unforgettable photo opportunities.
