Situated on a pointed peninsula extending into Lake Erie, Point Pelee National Park is one of the few places where the deciduous forest that used to cover North America still exists. Over 300 species of birds, among which a hundred or so sedentary species, have been sighted in this untamed area. During the migratory seasons, in spring and autumn, you can see up to a hundred species of birds in the park. September is also the migratory month for monarch butterflies.
