Wat Roka Kandal
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
This lovely pagoda on the banks of the Mekong river is among the oldest still standing in Cambodia. Built in the early 19C, the nave still retains its original wooden frame and 30 pillars. On a base of black varnish, stencilled geometrical patterns depict entwined kala and naga (mythical serpents). The wicker and rattan baskets and bags sold in the garden are made by women artisans. The place is particularly lovely at sunset.
