Although Indian legends addressed holes that "blew wind," the cave's recorded discovery came in 1881. Ranger-led tours range from the 1hr, 150-stair Garden of Eden Tour to the 4hr, lots-of-crawling Caving Tour. Unique honeycomb-like boxwork was named for its resemblance to old postal sorters—a diagonal crisscross of fragile-looking lines of calcite protruding from walls.
