North America's major relay site for nearly 100 years, Heart's Content has been converted into a museum devoted to the history of communication. There is a film (20min) and a special section devoted to the laying of the transatlantic cables, the part played by the Great Eastern and the importance of Heart's Content. Costumed guides on site organise tours of the replica of the first cable office (1866).
