Panagia Kimisis Church is reached via a paved path that zigzags up above Hora in a rocky landscape of tawny ochre hues. The island's loveliest church, with a remarkable bell tower, stood in the centre of a convent, probably on the site of an earlier building, as suggested by the throne displayed inside. The site is in ruins, but does offer a magnificent view over Hora and the sea.
