The huge square (its size can be fully grasped when ignoring the Grätzl set of buildings in the centre) is a reminder of Eggenburg's past importance. This is still underlined today by the 16C pillory and Eagle Fountain (Adlerbrunnen), the Mary Column, Plague Column and Sgraffitohaus, a sgraffito house.
