Constructed in the 13C, the Juna Mahal meets the essentially military standards of the day. However, behind the severe, typically Rajput façade, there are wall paintings created in surprisingly vivid colours: hunting parties and episodes from the life of Krishna, the blue deity. The palace also harbours its secrets: a cupboard in a dark corridor on the top floor conceals a veritable comic strip of more daring, even pornographic images!
