At its mouth, the Ebro forms a wide delta that is the largest wetland area of Catalonia. Unique wildlife and plants have thrived in this huge expanse, in which land and sea merge. Far from the tourist hubbub, this coastal region, a UNESCO biosphere, is dotted with small fishing villages, steeped in charm and paddy fields and lagoons that are home to hundreds of species of birds.
