Curracloe Beach is a superb stretch of white sand bordered by dunes and with waves prized by surfers. Very popular in summer but quiet the rest of the year, it is long enough (11km) to offer many secluded spots. Scenes from famous films have been shot here: the landing of Saving Private Ryan (1998) and a romantic stroll in Brooklyn (2015).
