A waymarked path from the citadel of Corte leads to the Tavignano gorges. The footpath follows the left bank of the river. Approximately 1hr from the start of the walk, an old shepherd's hut and fountain offer welcome cool. The second section of the walk is more challenging and leads to a footbridge, where you can stop for a dip in the pools here. Upstream from the bridge, a small creek offers a shady spot. There is another path to the Arche de Corte through a beautiful forest of sweet chestnuts.
