De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
The country's oldest wine-growing estate was created in 1692 by the governor of the Cape (1679-1699), Simon Van der Stel, to whom the Dutch East Indies Company had granted 762ha of land. The Manor House, built in the late 18C, is a fine example of the Cape Dutch style with its four gabled façades. Now a museum, it attests to the aristocratic lifestyle of the Dutch during this period. Visits to the cellars and wine tastings are also available here.
