Nikola-Manev Art Gallery
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
The Nikola-Manev Art Gallery is a fine example of the "Plovdiv Baroque style". Built in 1867, it housed a museum devoted to the Revolution during the communist era. In 2000, it was bought by the artist Nikola Manev (1940-2018) who turned it into an art gallery. The house itself is worth a visit. The façade, the murals and the carved ceiling of the drawing room are splendid. The paintings exhibited offer an insight into the art of Nikola Manev. His almost abstract style suggests strange mineral landscapes or imaginary structures.
