Independence Hall of Korea
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
The huge Independence Hall of Korea (seven buildings) was built to chart the 35 years (1910-1945) of Japanese occupation, during which time the Koreans had to forget their language, nationality and identity. The museum relates, among other things, the fate of the 200 000 (mostly Korean) women kidnapped to serve as "comfort women" to Japanese soldiers. The sections "Cry of the Nation" and "Restoration of National Sovereignty" are particularly well documented.
