De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
This house, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the remarkable "essay in architecture" built by Thomas Jefferson, who was not only a statesman, but also an accomplished musician, draughtsman and naturalist. It stands on the little mountain ("Monticello"). After the entrance hall, which Jefferson used as a museum, visitors are free to explore the passageway underneath the house, leading to a wine cellar and kitchen. An information centre at the foot of the mountain shows exhibitions and a film.
