This sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna stands at an altitude of 800m in the middle of oak and chestnut woods. It is one of six sanctuaries created by Gregory the Great in the 6C. The current building is the result of numerous modifications made during the Baroque period, while the façade was restored in 1907. One of the most popular pilgrimage sites in Sicily, the shrine is especially busy on the 8th September, the festival of the Madonna.
