To the left behind the Cayo Piedra guard post, 24km of rocky, pot-holed track leads to Punta del Este, an unspoilt area culminating in magnificent white sand beach. This idyllic place remains deserted for the time being, but the expected growth in tourism does indeed come about in the coming years.
