The South African Museum, a museum of natural history and ethnography, contains interesting documents and some fine pieces for gaining an understanding of the Khoi and San cultures and lifestyles. It also boasts magnificent rock paintings and several Lydenburg heads, clay statuettes from the 6C. The planetarium, next door, gives a view onto the sky of the southern hemisphere.
