The vast Parque Nacional Palo Verde provides its abundant resident wildlife (migratory birds, large mammals and reptiles) with a habitat of marshland, mangroves and forests. In the dry season, these superb creatures emerge in search of watering holes. Flocks of waterfowl appear in the rainy season (when it is advisable to hire a 4x4).
