The panorama over the Bay of Porto Conte is absolutely magnificent. Tramariglio, a hamlet of Alghero, used to be home to a prison, but is now entirely given over to tourism and the prison buildings have been converted into holiday homes. Cala Tramariglio, with Punta del Frara and a 17C tower at its southern end, boasts a marina.
