De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
Built in the 12C, this castle with its austere façade overlooking the River Petite Creuse was destroyed in the Hundred Years War. Jean I de Brosse, lord of Boussac and comrade of Joan of Arc, rebuilt it in the 15C: mullioned windows and turrets bearing armorials lighten the tone of the structure. The guardroom has emblazoned chimney pieces, and on the first floor is a room once occupied by writer George Sand (the château is the setting for her novel Jeanne).
