As you come down the mountain, this characteristic Shan village, nestling at the foot of forested mountains and dominated by its large wooden temple, guarded by naïve-style statues, comes into view. From Ban Mae La Na, several forest paths lead to Lahu villages and to caves. 5km from the village, stop at the lookout point by the roadside and savour the view.
