This facility is the only one in the US dedicated exclusively to conserving and promoting the use of indigenous plants, including 400 species native to Texas. The 42-acre site includes 23 separate research, display and botanical theme gardens-ablaze with color particularly in April and May-as well as natural grasslands and woodlands, an observation tower, stone cisterns, aqueducts, courtyards and nature trails.
