Half road, half track, the 27 km route (beautiful but sometimes demanding) takes 2h30 of ascent and descent. You'll come across cows, goats and mules carrying cheese, and farmers who seem to appear out of nowhere. On the way, the views of the island's interior, the ocean and the neighbouring island of São Vicente (and sometimes even further away) are superb.
