An intriguing, innovative concept combining Tagesbar ("daytime bar", serving excellent cocktails) and Esszimmer ("dining room"). Hidden behind a curtain, and with only a handful of covers, the stylish restaurant has a pleasingly intimate feel. They serve a modern six-course set menu (a vegetarian version is available if pre-ordered), in which head chef Alexander Kumptner uses carefully selected ingredients and skilfully incorporates Mediterranean or Asian elements. One fantastic dish, for example, is braised and pickled muscat squash with octopus and a spicy foam of smoked red pepper – a real treat. The professional and charming service runs like clockwork.
