Golden Horseshoe Barbecue, run by mother-son duo Doris and Andrew Golden, was sparked by a passion for barbecue developed during the pandemic. It began as a series of pop-ups and has since moved to a brick-and-mortar space where Andrew smokes the meat and Doris deals in desserts and cornbread. This is true Texas-style barbecue, specializing in the holy trinity of brisket, ribs and sausage (if you happen to swing by on a Thursday, you'll be rewarded with pastrami, though). While all eyes are trained on the meat, sides like charro beans with jalapeños and cotija cheese, and cornbread slathered in cinnamon butter, are far from a second thought.
